Before you sign a contract with a photographer, be sure that all of the following items are addressed in the contract:

	the name of the actual professional whose work you have seen, who will photograph your wedding
	the name of the photographer's backup (in case of an emergency)
	the backup equipment on site, in case of equipment failure
	the number of assistants
	the attire that the photographer is expected to wear (tuxedos, suits)
	the number of rolls of film to be shot
	all locations involved in the wedding (the bride's home, church, reception site, etc.) and addresses, phone numbers and arrival times
	the exact dates, times and hours that the photographer will be working
	all items included in the package
	the total cost and overtime fees
	the costs for extra albums, prints, and proofs
	the time frame for delivery of proofs, prints, and albums
	the deposit and payment schedule

Questions:

What goes on the contract?

• Your name, address and phone number. The names and addresses of the ceremony and reception locations.
• The name of your photographer
• The time that he/she arrives and leaves
• An explanation of what happens if your photographer doesn't show up.
• The description of the package you ordered
• The number of proofs you will view in order to pick your enlargements and/or keep
• A list of guaranteed prices for enlargements. If they have a brochure with prices then get the photographer to write down that the prices on the brochure they gave you are the prices that you will be charged.
• The cutoff date for these brochure prices.
• All additional charges, services, taxes, travel, etc... Get the exact cost on the contract.
• The date and deposit amount and how much is still owing.
