Royal Roads - Hatley Gardens - Royal Roads Gardens are located within Hatley Park at Colwood, a suburb of Victoria British Columbia, Canada. Hatley Park houses Canada's most recently established public university: The Royal Roads University. Its public gardens are located on almost 150 acres of land leased from the Canadian Government.

The gardens are surrounded by forest exhibiting many of the flora types on Vancouver Island. They border the saltwater Esquimalt lagoon, a renowned bird and wildlife sanctuary. One can look across the straits of Juan de Fuca at Olympic Mountains in Washington State.

Once the private estate of James Dunsmuir, the gardens contain a diverse collection of plants. The gardens are open to the public, free of admission charges, throughout the week, from sunrise to sunset.
